Tom Carnahan, president and CEO of Wind Capital Group, has been named to the board of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA). Carnahan, who founded Wind Capital Group in 2005, has quickly established the company as one of America's leading wind energy developers.
‘I firmly believe that by harnessing clean, renewable sources of energy like wind, we can create jobs, generate opportunity and help forge a path to American energy independence,’ says Carnahan. ‘It is a real honor to be named to the board of AWEA, particularly at this critical juncture in our nation's history.
‘I look forward to working with the other members of the AWEA board on important issues like passage of a national renewable energy standard, which will send a strong signal of America's commitment to renewable sources of energy,’ he continues.
Wind Capital Group now has offices in Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin, and wind energy projects under development in 16 states – a development pipeline of over 2,500 MW.
