Toronto-based Trillium Power Wind Corp. has completed a bilateral agreement with St. Lawrence College to establish a series of training and educational programs that will assist in the development of offshore and onshore wind developments in Canada.
According to Don Young, dean of applied sciences at St. Lawrence College, this program has been in the works for over two years, and a partnership with European training partners will provide Ontario with the skills to develop green-collar enterprises and manufacturing in the region.
‘Trillium Power Wind 1, planned for mid-Lake Ontario, southeast of Prince Edward County, is an important green-collar enterprise that can assist in shifting Ontario's highly skilled workforce to well-paying, sustainable, green tech manufacturing and services jobs that are highly sought by all jurisdictions around the world,’ says John Kourtoff, president and CEO of Trillium Power.
