Arlington, Wash.-based OutBack Power Systems Inc., a manufacturer of power electronics products for renewable energy applications, has welcomed Ray Barbee to its growing team of industry veterans.
Barbee will draw upon his more than 25 years of electrical and electronics industry experience – 18 of which were focused on renewable energy – to serve as the director of product management and technical services at OutBack Power. He will be responsible for driving expansion of the company's product line for off-grid, grid-tie with battery backup (grid interactive), and mobile and backup power solutions.
‘His extensive background in the power electronics and renewable energy industries, both in the United States and abroad, brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to the product development effort for OutBack,’ says Mark Thomas, president and CEO of Outback Power Systems.
Prior to joining OutBack Power, Barbee was the director of distribution for GridPoint Technology, where he was responsible for managing the company's growth in the renewable energy market segment for residential backup power. He also spent more than a decade in various sales and marketing and engineering roles at Xantrex Technology – previously Trace Engineering – where he was instrumental in supporting the company's product evolution, increasing sales and fostering the expansion into new market segments globally.
