Berkeley Calif.-based Nordic Windpower, a manufacturer of utility-scale wind turbines, has announced that Jeffrey Brown has joined the company as chief operations officer (COO). He will manage the company's operations team which includes a manufacturing facility in Pocatello, Idaho, and a service team in Berkeley.

Since 1996, Brown has been an operations executive at GE Energy, most recently as regional general manager of contractual services, with responsibility for long-term service contracts to maintain heavy gas and steam turbines in the power industry.
A graduate of Cornell University with a degree in materials science and engineering, Brown received his MBA from Suffolk University in Boston.
