Minneapolis-based National Wind LLC has promoted Travis Moen to wind energy project developer. Moen, who has worked for National Wind for approximately 18 months, will focus primarily on projects located in North Dakota, South Dakota and western Minnesota.
This promotion is in recognition of the key contributions Moen made in National Wind's efforts to help drive the 49.5 MW portion of the M-Power LLC Luverne Wind Farm toward a successful closing on a construction-ready project sale earlier this year. This project is located in Griggs and Steele counties, North Dakota.
‘Travis brought a strong background in oil and gas land and title work to his role at National Wind,’ says Bill Smeaton, senior wind developer at National Wind. ‘He has a proven ability to establish positive relationships with landowners and project consultants, and is a resourceful and creative problem solver.’
The Luverne Wind Farm was co-developed under an agreement between National Wind and M-Power. It is anticipated that Moen will be closely involved in any future M-Power projects, as well as other appropriate development activities within his region of responsibility.
