The law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP has expanded its Miami office with the hiring of Justin B. Mead as a shareholder in the tax practice group. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Mead was a partner with McDermott Will & Emery LLP.
Mead focuses his practice on the federal income tax issues faced by large corporations and the joint ventures entered into among these corporations, with an emphasis on the energy industry. His practice also involves the structuring and implementation of alternative energy projects such as wind, solar, biomass and geothermal, as well as hedge and private equity funds.
Mead is a former member of the federal energy tax practice at an international accounting firm, where he concentrated on the unique federal income tax issues faced by energy corporations, as well as the general federal income tax issues that these corporations face during restructurings.
