EverPower Renewables Corp., a developer of utility-grade wind power projects, has hired wind energy industry veteran Chris Shears as senior vice president of development. Shears will assume a senior role in the development group and will be responsible for evaluating new business opportunities.

Most recently Shears served as director for Renewable Energy Systems Ltd. in Great Britain, where he worked since 1994. He also was chairman of the board of the British Wind Energy Association from 2005 to 2007 and served as a member of the governing board of the organization from 1997 to 2007. Shear and his family will be relocating to New York City.
