Dialight Corp.'s D264 Series LED-based flashing red beacons are being optimized for wind farm installations by two industry-leading OEM distributors.
Dialight provides standard D264 beacons, which are modified to incorporate an integral photocell, controller and GPS-based synchronized flasher module in a compact design that eliminates the need for additional control cabinets and wiring, according to the company.
The GPS module serves to synchronize the flashing of beacons installed in wind farms, eliminating the need to illuminate all of them simultaneously. Designed for both new installations and as replacements for 300 millimeter incandescent obstruction lighting fixtures, the beacons are available in both 48V DC and 120/240V AC versions.
‘This integral design makes ours the only LED-based beacon that doesn't require extra real estate and additional wiring,’ says Doug Woehler, Dialight's obstruction lighting product manager. ‘In addition to ease of installation and associated labor savings, it offers substantial energy savings, and our patented optics minimize ground scatter making it more community-friendly.
