Bill Connors Named VP Of Renewables At MDU

Bismark, N.D.-based MDU Resources Group Inc. has named Bill Connors vice president of renewable resources.

Connors will lead the development of a corporate-wide renewable resources investment strategy. He will focus on identifying potential investment opportunities that are complementary to the company's existing business units and on strategic responses to legislation and regulations related to carbon emissions and renewable energy.

‘Bill will help us expand and capitalize on the renewable efforts already under way at our business units by developing a coordinated strategy across the corporation,’ says Terry D. Hildestad, president and CEO of MDU Resources Group. ‘He will help us develop a better understanding of the renewable resources market that is evolving in this country and build an investment strategy that can provide solid shareholder returns.


Connors, who has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry, joined the company in 2004. As vice president of origination, contracts and regulatory issues for Centennial Energy Resources LLC – an MDU Resources subsidiary – he helped lead the sale of the company's domestic independent power business unit in 2007.

Connors has a law degree from the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Carroll College in Helena, Mont.
