AES Corp. has named Ned Hall executive vice president and president for the company's wind generation division.
AES' wind generation business currently has more than 1,000 MW of wind generation in operation and 5,000 MW of wind projects in various stages of development around the world.
‘Ned's leadership of our global wind generation business since AES first entered the wind market in 2004 has helped us become one of the fastest-growing wind generators in the U.S.,’ says Paul Hanrahan, president and CEO of AES. ‘Ned has proven himself to be the right person to lead this business as we continue to aggressively grow our wind energy portfolio not only in the U.S., but around the world.’
Hall has been with AES since 1988 and is a member of the American Wind Energy Association board of directors. Most recently, he was vice president and president of AES' renewable generation division. His previous positions with the company include managing director, business development and executive vice president of AES China Generating Co.
Hall has a degree in finance and operations management from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a degree in mechanical engineering from Tufts University.
