The Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator (Midwest ISO) has appointed Loyd Warnock vice president of government and regulatory affairs.
In this position, Warnock will oversee all state and federal regulatory activities for the regional transmission organization, including working with the Organization of Midwest ISO States. He will report directly to President and CEO John R. Bear.
Formerly vice president of external affairs at Allegheny Energy, Warnock is a veteran utility executive with an extensive understanding of the mission of regional transmission organizations and is well versed in current public policy issues such as resource adequacy, demand response and the integration of state mandates for renewable energy.
While at Allegheny, he oversaw the utility's interactions with members of Congress, governors and state legislative leadership. He also served as the primary liaison with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), PJM and the Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia utility commissions and commissioners.
