Vestas-American Wind Technology Inc. has promoted Christian Venderby from chief financial officer (CFO) to chief operating officer (COO). The company has also hired two new executives: Henrik Kanstrup Jorgensen as vice president of technology, and Steen Moller as CFO. Jorgensen and Moller will join Vestas' management team, based in the company's North American headquarters in Portland, Ore., in August.
In his new role as COO, Venderby leads the construction, service, technology and supply-chain management operations for Vestas in the U.S. and Canada. Venderby joined Vestas in 2006 as CFO after spending more than 15 years with FLSmidth.
Jorgensen joined Vestas in 1991 in the technology research and development group at the company's global headquarters in Randers, Denmark. Most recently, he was vice president of global research for Vestas. In North America, Jorgensen will increase Vestas' technology competences through power plant solutions, including supervising monitoring and remote troubleshooting for wind power plants, along with surveillance, performance and diagnostics.
Moller assumes responsibilities for financial planning and reporting as well as treasury, accounts receivable/payable and business-performance management. Before joining Vestas, he was finance director for the sweeteners division of Danisco.
