Vestas has appointed Doug Macdonald as its senior vice president and country manager for Canada. In this role, Macdonald will oversee the company's strategic and sales activities in Canada.
Macdonald joined Vestas in 2005 and brings a diverse background in sales, service construction, maintenance, government relations and finance to the newly created position. He will be based out of Vestas' Canadian headquarters in Toronto's financial district.
‘Designating a lead for our Canadian activities will add focus and resources to a market that is growing and holds much promise,’ says Martha Wyrsch, president of Vestas' sales and service operations in the U.S. and Canada. "This is a critical role to ensure our current customers are well served and highly satisfied, and that future opportunities in Canada are maximized."
Vestas supplied its first wind turbine to Canada in 1997 and has since installed more than 1,100 in all 10 Canadian provinces combined.
