Siemens AG has announced the appointment of Dirk Wernicke as managing director and head of engineering for Siemens Wind Power in Bremen, Germany. With the appointment of Gernot Ziegeldecker as head of commercial administration for the company, this completes the new management team in Bremen. The company is responsible for sales and service of Siemens wind turbines on the German market.
Following a doctorate in thermodynamics at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Wernicke started his career at Siemens in 1997 and has held various posts in project management, strategy and sales. His previous position was head of global sales for industrial gas turbines within Siemens Power Generation.
Wernicke is succeeding Norbert Giese, who is leaving the company at his own request.
