Mike Magnus, president and CEO of Halifax, Nova Scotia-based Shear Wind Inc., and the members of the Shear Wind board of directors have named David McDaniel Mann chairman.
Mann is an attorney at Cox & Palmer, which he joined in January 2005. Mann was appointed to the Queen's Counsel in 1982. He was previously president and CEO of Emera Inc. and its principal subsidiary, Nova Scotia Power Inc.
Mann states that his involvement in Shear Wind ‘caught my interest because of my commitment to the importance of renewable energy, and secondly, because of the opportunity that wind companies have to effect energy improvements. Helping bring a newer industry to maturity over the next few years is an added bonus. I will enjoy being a part of such an exciting venture.’
