REpower Systems AG has announced that the responsibilities of the company's executive board will be reorganized. The core competencies will be bundled in order to ensure further growth in international markets, according to the company. As a result, Gregor Gnadig has been named to the newly created position of chief operating officer (COO), effective Oct. 1.
The role of the COO will be to continue the optimization within the entire order-to-delivery cycle – including procurement, production, logistics and project management – so that costs can be further reduced, according to REpower.
Gnadig most recently was vice president of project execution at Alstom Power. He began his career in 1987 as an engineer in the U.S. after studying in mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany. From 1990 onward, he worked in ABB's power-station division in the technical sales department and in product management.
In related news, Chief Supply Chain Officer Lars Rytter Kristensen has terminated his executive board member service agreement by mutual agreement.
