The Alliance for Clean Energy New York (ACE NY) says that the organization's director, Carol E. Murphy, has been selected by Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo to serve on his Environment and Energy transition committee. Murphy will advise Cuomo and his aides as they recruit, review and recommend candidates to fill leadership positions in the energy and environmental arenas.
Murphy previously served on the energy transition team of former Gov. Eliot Spitzer. She currently represents ACE NY on the Integration Advisory Panel of Gov. David Paterson's Climate Action Council and was also a member of Paterson's Renewable Energy Task Force.
ACE NY board members Marcia Bystryn, president of the New York League of Conservation Voters; Adrienne Esposito, executive director of Citizens Campaign for the Environment; and Ashok Gupta of the Air and Energy Program at the Natural Resources Defense Council, were also invited to serve on the transition committee.
