Arena Solutions, a provider of on-demand product lifecycle management (PLM) software for manufacturers, has announced that Nordic Windpower has implemented Arena PLM to accelerate the domestic and international rollout of its advanced two-bladed, utility-scale wind turbines. The company will use Arena PLM to meet product launch goals, ensure product data integrity and collaborate with its contract-manufacturing partners around the world.
‘Electricity generation is one of the largest industrial polluters, so we're trying to make clean, sustainable wind power a more viable alternative by bringing down the cost,’ says Greg Mead, vice president of manufacturing and operations at Nordic Windpower. ‘Because our wind turbines respond to load flexibly, rather than rigidly, they are more reliable and require less maintenance than three-bladed models. They weigh less, so they also cost less to produce, and by using Arena PLM, we'll be able to further reduce our costs from design through manufacturing.’
According to Nordic Windpower, Arena PLM was selected because of cost, capabilities and on-demand delivery model.
