Renewable energy consultancy group Natural Power says it has hired Leif Cooper as marine operations manager to develop the company's offshore wind business in the U.S. while continuing to manage the installation of several marine deployments specific to offshore wind energy projects.
Cooper moves to Natural Power's North American headquarters, located in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and brings an extensive track record in the marine industry, where he has been responsible for vessel operations, marine legislation, standards, industry best practices and the development of practical health and safety approaches to projects.
Cooper's experience in marine coordination and with offshore clients has provided him with awareness of all aspects of the marine construction phase in the growing sector, Natural Power explains. Prior to moving into offshore renewables, Cooper worked for six years at UK Dredging/ABP, where he was responsible for complete day-to-day vessel management, including budgets, manning, health and safety, and contract completion/client satisfaction.
