The GridWise Alliance, a consortium of public and private stakeholders, has announced that 15 companies and organizations have recently joined this national coalition whose goal is to promote the use of smart grid technologies to transform the nation's electric power system.
New members include American Electric Power; Cellnet + Hunt; Computer Sciences Corp.; Cooper Power Systems; EKA Systems; KEMA Consulting; MainNet Communications; Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator; National Grid; Public Service Electric & Gas Co.; SensorTran Inc.; Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution; Telvent; Washington State University and ZIV USA.
‘The passage of the Energy Bill in 2007 and the continued growth of the GridWise Alliance continues to shine a spotlight on the importance of a smart grid in our nation's future,’ says Steve Hauser, president of the GridWise Alliance. ‘Our purpose is to advocate for change in policies at both a national and local level.
