Janice R. Moore has joined Pierce Atwood LLP as a partner in the firm's energy practice group. She comes to Pierce Atwood with more than 20 years of experience in the capital markets and energy industries, most of them as in-house counsel.
Moore has represented clients from all segments of the energy industry in the areas of credit, risk, trading, finance, commodities, derivatives, controls and other aspects of energy deals and hedging transactions. She also has transactional experience with the energy sectors of emerging markets in Africa, Southeast Asia and South America and has negotiated transactions involving companies and government entities in the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Guam, Brazil and the U.K.
Her work in the capital markets and structured products sectors involves risk management and the representation of banks and hedge funds engaged in various private offerings and derivatives transactions.
From 1996 to 2001, Moore served as assistant general counsel for Enron North America Corp., where she advised traders and business development groups on all aspects of power purchase and sale transactions, including master agreements and structured transactions in Southeast Asia and most U.S. markets.
Prior to her work with Enron, Moore held legal and management positions with the Mobil Corp. from 1989 to 1996.
