The American Council On Renewable Energy's (ACORE) founding president, Michael Eckhart, has announced his retirement after nine years leading the organization. The board of directors has appointed a search committee and retained the executive search firm Korn/Ferry International.

ACORE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has advocated advancing renewable energy solutions in the U.S. The group specializes in research, education, communications and convening.

‘We have exceptionally large shoes to fill and are pleased to have a world-class firm helping us to do that,’ says John Geesman, co-chair of ACORE's board of directors. ‘We are hopeful of identifying a successor to Mike by year's end.’

Geesman and Dan Reicher are leading the search committee.
