Goldwind USA Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co. Ltd., recently added several wind industry veterans to its staff. R. Scott Rowland has been named vice president of engineering, and Bernie Lacoste is now director of operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

Rowland will oversee the company's technical service group, which is responsible for supporting customers and developers through supply logistics, construction, commissioning and O&M of turbines. He previously served in a variety of roles throughout his 14 years in the wind industry, including vice president of engineering and construction at First Wind. In addition, Rowland was project manager for the Texas Wind Power Co., where he managed the firm's engineering, procurement and construction practices.

Lacoste will be responsible for management of Goldwind USA's O&M activities. Prior to joining the company, he was vice president of O&M at First Wind, where he established a proprietary data analysis and control center. Prior to joining First Wind, Lacoste worked as an application engineer and project manager for enXco and helped the company build projects on the U.S. mainland and Hawaii, and in Central America.

As part of Goldwind's global expansion, Goldwind USA's headquarters was established in Chicago earlier this year as a launching point for the parent company's efforts in the Americas.
