Renewable energy developer EDF EN Canada Inc. says it has promoted Benoit Rigal to vice president of engineering and construction.
In this role, Rigal will be responsible for managing technical studies, procurement, logistics, construction and commissioning of all wind energy projects. He will also have oversight of the technical support required for future project development within Canada.
Based in Montreal, Rigal joined EDF Energies Nouvelles in February 2007 as deputy head of construction in the company's Paris headquarters. In this role, he managed the engineering and construction for both wind and solar projects located in France, Greece, Italy and the U.K. During this time, he also served as technical coordinator for EDF EN's role in the Saint Laurent Energies consortium. He later transferred to Quebec as the technical director for EDF EN Canada.
Prior to joining EDF EN, Rigal held progressive positions within Technip Group as construction and project engineer for projects in Bahrain, Singapore and Qatar.
