DONG Energy, a Denmark-headquartered company that currently has over 1.035 GW of onshore and offshore wind power in operation and another 1.316 GW under construction, says that Anders Eldrup will resign from his role as CEO of the company.
‘Anders Eldrup has made a huge contribution to DONG Energy for 11 years and is handing over a strong, well-run company,’ says Fritz Schur, chairman of the company's board of directors. ‘I wish him good luck with his new challenges.’
Schur stresses that the management change will have no effect on DONG
Energy's strategy.
"Our strategy and investment program are sound, so the strategic direction
will continue unchanged," he says. "We will also maintain our ambitious target to double earnings in 2015 compared with 2009."
Carsten Krogsgaard Thomsen, DONG Energy's chief financial officer, has been appointed as acting CEO. A process has been set in motion to identify a new CEO.
