A new jobs report from the nonprofit American Solar Energy Society (ASES) shows that as many as one out of four workers in the U.S. will be working in the renewable energy or energy efficiency industries by 2030. This report shows that these industries already generate 8.5 million jobs in the U.S. and are growing rapidly, according to ASES.
According to the report, by 2030, the renewable energy and energy-efficiency industries could generate up to $4.5 trillion in revenue in the U.S. 40 million jobs could be created in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, construction, accounting and management.
Solar, wind, ethanol and fuel cells are likely to be some of the biggest areas of growth, according to ASES. The report is available at ases.org.
