WindSim will offer a training course in Dallas on May 27-28, following WINDPOWER 2010. The two-day course, called ‘WindSim | The Basics,’ focuses on the advantages and challenges of applying computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation and 3-D visualization techniques to wind energy projects.
Course attendees will be guided through each of the steps necessary to run CFD simulations, including terrain, wind fields, wind farm layout, climatology, validation, interpretation, wind resources and turbine level. Attendees also receive a subscription to a fully functional WindSim license to allow them to continue to apply what they learn in the course, according to the company.
No prior experience working with WindSim or CFD is required to benefit from the course. Certificates of completion will be awarded, and special discounted academic pricing is available.
