Queen Creek, Ariz.-based WindPower Innovations Inc. has completed the contract to acquire Energetic Drives LLC as a wholly owned subsidiary of WindPower Innovations.
Energetic Drives' direct-drive generator technology allows optimum power generation over a broader spectrum of wind speeds with a smaller generator footprint, according to the company. Energetic Drives' technologies are engineered for use in new turbines or can be retrofitted to serve existing equipment.
