Wind Energy To Supply All Of Allegheny College’s Electricity

Meadville, Pa.-based Allegheny College has signed an agreement to purchase Green-e certified wind energy to supply 100% of its annual power usage beginning in 2011.

‘This single agreement, which immediately eliminates 52 percent of Allegheny's carbon footprint, takes us halfway toward fulfilling the promise we made when we signed the president's climate commitment in 2007,’ says David McInally, vice president for finance and planning at Allegheny.
