Vestas has named Christian Venderby, who has served as senior vice president of operations at Vestas Americas, its new group senior vice president and head of service.
The company says its service business is becoming an increasingly important element in its strategy to achieve profitable growth, and Vestas is establishing a new stand-alone organization that will aim to capture the service business on as many of its new turbine orders as possible and increase the current service contract renewal rate.
"Based on his experience, commitment and extensive accomplishments during his career, [Venderby] is well qualified to build on Vestas' existing service business achievements, and we look forward to the many contributions he will bring to this vital business area, which is an important part of our new strategy, profitable growth for Vestas," comments Anders Runevad, CEO of Vestas.
