The US Offshore Wind Collaborative (USOWC) has announced several changes to its board of directors.
Joel Whitman, CEO of Global Marine Energy, has joined the board, and Jennifer Simon Lento, associate at Nixon Peabody, accepted an appointment as counsel to the USOWC board.
In addition, Barbara Hill, current member and former executive director of Clean Power Now, takes over as interim chairwoman. Hill is stepping in for Gregory Watson, who was recently appointed commissioner of food and agriculture for the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Watson will continue to serve on the USOWC board.
"There is, right now, an enormous opportunity to transform the way we produce electricity: through utility-scale offshore wind energy," Hill says. "For mitigating climate change, enhancing national security and industrial-scale job creation, we have to grab this opportunity, and we will!"
