Shear Wind, a Halifax, Nova Scotia-based renewable energy developer, has begun the initial stages of feasibility and development of leased lands in the province of Saskatchewan.
According to the company, the site is located in an area well known for excellent wind resources and is adjacent to transmission for generation offtake. Shear Wind believes that the site could provide an economically feasible project of up to 150 MW – bringing the company's pipeline potential to 1,500 MW. Long-term wind monitoring will begin this fall.
