Jens-Peter Saul has been appointed CEO of Siemens' wind power business unit, headquartered in Brande, Denmark. Saul succeeds Andreas Nauen, who has been named CEO of REpower Systems AG. Previously, Saul was managing director of Siemens Energy in the U.K. and was also responsible for northern and western Europe.
Saul joined Siemens' fossil power generation division in 1996 as project manager, where he held various managerial posts. Following a short term as project manager with a consulting company in the automobile sector, Saul assumed managerial functions at Siemens in 2002, including responsibility for power plants sales and marketing in the Middle East. In 2005, he was appointed head of power plant business for the Siemens Power Generation Group in the U.K.
In related news, the supervisory board of REpower has appointed Nauen its new CEO. He was previously CEO of Siemens, and is expected to join REpower in October.
Nauen takes over from Per Hornung Pedersen, who remains an executive board member and moves to a new role as chief business development and business strategy officer.
Nauen joined Siemens in 1991 and has degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration. He spent his first three years in gas and steam project management before switching to sales. Nauen was appointed CEO of Siemens' wind power business unit in 2004.
