NextEra Energy To Change NYSE Ticker Symbol

NextEra Energy Inc. plans to change the ticker symbol for its common stock listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) from FPL to NEE. The change is expected to become effective at the start of trading on June 23.

In May, the company's shareholders approved changing its name from FPL Group Inc. to NextEra Energy Inc. to better reflect the company's scale.

Also effective at the start of trading on June 23, the ticker symbol for FPL Group Capital Inc.'s Series F Junior Subordinated Debentures due 2069 will change from FPL.PRF to NEE.PRF, and the ticker symbol for FPL Group Capital Trust I's 5-7/8% Preferred Trust Securities will change from FPL.PRC to NEE.PRC.
