The Bonneville Power Administration's (BPA) recently appointed administrator, Bill Drummond, has been replaced.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), which oversees the BPA, has appointed acting deputy administrator Elliot Mainzer to take over as acting administrator on an interim basis. Drummond took his post in February after long-time administrator Steve Wright retired.
According to an AP report, the DOE announced the change in an email to BPA employees on Monday, but the agency did not mention Drummond by name or explain his departure.
However, AP notes that the announcement came one day before Inspector General Gregory H. Friedman released a report that the BPA failed to give mandated hiring preference to veterans and may have punished employees for cooperating with the ongoing probe.
