John Kostyack has been named executive director at Washington, D.C.-based Wind Energy Foundation, a nonprofit established by wind industry leaders to raise public awareness of wind as a clean, domestic energy source.
Most recently, he served on the American Wind Wildlife Institute's board of directors for the past three years. He has held senior roles at the nexus of climate change, energy and wildlife for the past 20 years, most notably at the National Wildlife Federation, where he helped the wind industry find ways to site and operate wind turbines, and also engaged executives to get active on climate change.
He begins the post on Sept. 15.
