REpower Systems AG has completed the assembly of the first three REpower 6M turbines in Bremerhaven, Germany. The wind turbines each have a rated output of 6 MW and are expected to be erected at the Westre civic wind farm on the German-Danish border. They will undergo a comprehensive testing program and checks for certification.
The new offshore wind turbine technology is based on the successful 5M range. Since the dimensions correspond exactly to those of the REpower 5M, the REpower 6M can later be used in all the projects planned for this turbine type. In the future, series production will take place in the wind energy company's new assembly hall in Bremerhaven, which is designed to produce and directly ship more than 80 nacelles and hubs per year.
