Det Norske Veritas (DNV) says DNV Global Energy Concepts is changing its name to DNV Renewables as one of the final steps toward full integration with DNV.
In addition, the company is expanding its ability to deliver local wind energy services throughout the Americas by establishing wind energy competence in its offices in Houston; Calgary, Alberta; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to complement the existing wind energy focus of its Seattle and Boston offices.
DNV acquired Global Energy Concepts in June 2008 as one of several steps in expanding its wind energy business worldwide. The full integration of Global Energy Concepts into DNV accompanies a move to expand the capabilities of a number of DNV's existing offices to include wind energy, the company says.
