DNV Obtains Accreditation For Noise Testing Of Wind Turbines

0

DNV's Seattle office has been approved for accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for acoustic noise emissions testing on wind turbines in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005. Acoustic noise will be measured per the IEC 61400-11 standard for wind turbines.

According to the company, only a handful of organizations worldwide have achieved accreditation in this area, and DNV is the only private company in the U.S. to have completed this evaluation process.

This new accredited service supplements the accredited wind turbine power performance and mechanical loads testing already being conducted by DNV.

‘Our accreditation means that we meet both the technical competence requirements and management system requirements that are necessary to consistently deliver technically valid test and measurement results,’ says Mark Young, DNV's manager of testing and engineering.
