Deepwater Wind Names New CEO, Shakes Up Leadership Team

Deepwater Wind says it has named Jeffrey Grybowski, who has led the company's regulatory and business strategy as chief administrative officer, its new CEO.

Grybowski has been responsible for the development of Deepwater Wind's Block Island Wind Farm and has helped to guide the company's overall business strategy since 2008. He has a background in corporate law, having practiced as a partner at Hinckley, Allen & Snyder in Providence, R.I., and Sullivan & Cromwell in New York.

Grybowski succeeds William M. Moore, who had served as CEO since 2009. Moore will join the company's board of directors, where he will continue to provide strategic advice to the company's management.


Deepwater Wind's president, Chris van Beek, remains in his role, and will continue to manage the construction and operational aspects of the company's strategy.

In addition, Paul Gaynor, a member of Deepwater Wind's board of directors, has been elected as chairman of the board. Gaynor is CEO of First Wind, an investor in Deepwater Wind. Gaynor will continue to serve as CEO of First Wind.
