Wind turbine manufacturer Clipper Windpower has completed a sales agreement with a subsidiary of UPC Wind for the supply of 387.5 MW of Clipper's 2.5 MW Liberty wind turbines for delivery between 2009 and 2011.
Under the terms of the agreement, in addition to wind turbine supply, Clipper will provide installation supervision and operations and maintenance services for five years. The wind turbines will be deployed by UPC Wind in projects the company plans to develop within the U.S. during the 2009 to 2011 timeframe. The wind turbines will be built at Clipper's 330,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
