Burke E. Porter Machinery (BEP) has received an order from Broadwind to supply the 3.25 MW full load test stand for its Abilene,Texas, gearbox repair facility.
The system will include flexible mounting and fixturing capabilities for many of the most commonly installed wind turbines in the U.S., and use couplings for quick changeover and high productivity for rebuilding and testing gearboxes up to 3 MW, according to the company.
This is the third such wind turbine gearbox dynamometer project acquired by BEP.
