Bullfrog Power, a provider of green electricity, and Partners in Project Green, an initiative led by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority and Toronto and Region Conservation, have launched the Green Power Challenge.
The initiative encourages businesses in the Pearson Eco-Business Zone to achieve a collective goal of greening 58,000 MWh of electricity. Many organizations within the Pearson Eco-Business Zone have already made the decision to support renewable electricity with Bullfrog Power, including Wal-Mart Canada, LoyaltyOne, Symcor Inc., BMO Financial Group, RBC Financial Group, TD Bank Financial Group and GWL Realty.
Together, these organizations have signed up for more than 17,000 MWh of green electricity – 30% of the Green Power Challenge goal. Businesses can reduce their environmental impact and support the development of wind power projects in Ontario by purchasing green electricity.
