Carol Murphy, the executive director at the Alliance for Clean Energy New York (ACENY), a regional partner of the American Wind Energy Association, will retire as of Jan. 1.
During her six years at ACENY, Murphy helped to shape policy by advocating for net metering and its renewable portfolio standard as well as championing the return of Article X, the law pertaining to wind energy siting.Â
Valerie Strauss, the organization's deputy director, will become interim executive director beginning Jan. 1. According to ACENY, Strauss will work closely with the board and membership over the next few months to update the organization's priorities and strategic plan for 2013.
