Exton, Pa.-based WPCS International Inc., a provider of in design-build engineering services for specialty communication systems and wireless infrastructure, has announced that – through its Max Engineering subsidiary – it has completed a renewable wind energy project that encompasses the construction and installation of a wind turbine for Sherrard Community Unit School District located in Rock Island County, Ill.

The wind turbine is designed to generate alternative energy for the school district and is expected to provide a large percentage of the electrical energy required. The Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation, established to invest in clean energy development and land preservation efforts, supported this project with a grant.

‘WPCS has established a respectable reputation of providing high quality design-build engineering services for the wind energy market,’ says Robert Winterhalter, senior vice president for WPCS/Max Engineering. ‘Our services have expanded to include many facets of wind farm development and construction, and we believe our services will remain in demand as our nation continues to emphasize the creation of cost-effective alternative energy solutions.’
