Michigan residents, industry representatives, government employees, consultants and the public at large are working together to form a local Chapter of Women of Wind Energy (WoWE).
WoWE Michigan Chapter is looking to organize monthly meetings across Michigan, whether they be a networking breakfast ,or informational lunch, or socializing dinners. The purpose of this group is to promote awareness among women professionals for wind energy careers and education.
WoWE's goal is to advocate for women in technical jobs while offering networking, professional development working groups and scholarships for women interested in wind energy coursework.
WoWE is a branch of a nonprofit agency called Windustry. Through member-supported outreach, education and advocacy, Windustry works to promote progressive renewable energy solutions.
On the national level, WoWE is a group of individuals who support and encourage the participation and advancement of professional women in the wind energy industry.
