Wind Turbine Powers Robotic Waste-Sorting System

The first of its kind in the country, a robotic waste-sorting system powered by wind energy is operating in Malmo, Sweden.

ZenRobotics Ltd. delivered the “ZenRobotics Recycler” to customer Carl F, a family-owned waste management company that installed a wind turbine in 2013 for its recycling station.

Powered with the company’s own wind power for reduced environmental impact, the ZenRobotics Recycler can be run during the day and night.

“An installation like this is a great example of how you can set up an automated waste-sorting process for a minimum investment. You instantly get the benefits of scale with a minimal operating cost. The technology allows even solar- or wind-powered waste sorting,” says Rainer Rehn, ZenRobotics’ chief compliance officer. wind turbine zenrobotics
