Canada's minister of Education, Leisure and Sports has announced the creation of the Centre Quebecois de Formation en Maintenance D'eoliennes (CQFME) – Quebec Wind Turbine Maintenance Training Center.
The program will bring together industrial maintenance and electronics technology, wind turbine maintenance and custom-made training programs at Cegep de la Gaspesie et des lles.
These measures will also make it possible for Cegep to update wind energy teaching resources, define professional standards and develop varied training in wind turbine maintenance.
The total investment in the CQFME amounts to approximately C$3.8 million. The facility is expected to be operational by March 2011. The CQFME will also have a budget of nearly C$500,000 to purchase wind energy equipment.
