NRG Yield has completed its previously announced acquisition of assets from NRG Energy Inc. for $480 million in total cash consideration, plus assumed project debt of $737 million.
Under the deal, which was initially announced in November 2014, the yieldco unit purchased the 204 MW Tapestry scheme, which includes the 19 MW Buffalo Bear project in Oklahoma, the 130 MW Taloga project also in Oklahoma and the 55 MW Pinnacle project in West Virginia. In addition, it purchased the 81 MW Laredo Ridge wind facility, located in Petersburg, Neb.
The acquisition builds NRG Yield's growing wind portfolio. For example, last August, the yieldco acquired Alta Wind, which totals 947 MW of operating wind capacity, from Terra-Gen Power for $923 million.
