Wind Project Co-Owner Tells ISO New England To Pay Up For Curtailment

David Blittersdorf, co-owner of the Georgia Community Wind Farm in Vermont, has sent grid operator ISO New England a bill for nearly $5,500 he says the project lost following a recent curtailment order.

According to an Associated Press report, Blittersdorf sent the bill and a letter to ISO New England in order to bring the issue to the grid operator's attention. He argued in his letter that renewables deserve to be deemed "must take" energy sources.

An ISO New England spokesperson told the news agency that low power demand caused the operator to make the call, but said the ISO is making ongoing efforts to integrate renewable energy.
